We suggest using the public notes, private notes, and files to document standard information and processes that relate to that item. Use the comments for conversations and any other ad-hoc notices about those tasks.
For instance, a framing inspection checklist would go in the notes. But use a comment to tell your framer that he passed inspection (even if the jobsite was still messy).
Use the notes for the powder bath faucet measurements. Use a comment to give the plumber a heads-up that the faucet is sitting in the job trailer.
